RES. 800</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220927">September 27, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S395">Mrs. Hyde-Smith</sponsor> (for herself and <cosponsor name-id="S318">Mr. Wicker</cosponsor>) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation.</official-title></form><preamble><whereas><text>Whereas the American Farm Bureau was created in 1919 to disseminate college research results to farmers;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas, since 1919, the American Farm Bureau has since grown into one of the strongest lobbying organizations in the United States, with 6,000,000 members and affiliated services and member benefits that include highly respected insurance companies;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation was officially chartered on October 30, 1922, in Jackson, Mississippi, as a proud state affiliate of the American Farm Bureau;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas C.L. Neill of Jones County was elected as the first president of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation is a strong voice of agriculture for farmers, ranchers, and rural Mississippians;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas the mission of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation is to create an environment in which Mississippi farmers, ranchers, and Farm Bureau members can have a better life and make a better living; and</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas October 30, 2022, marks the 100th anniversary of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble><resolution-body><section id="S1" display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section"><text>That the Senate—</text><paragraph id="id084d769a61b242058679f8c6afb6575c"><enum>(1)</enum><text>celebrates October 30, 2022, as the 100th anniversary of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id223286b6a95c42968184d91fd2309310"><enum>(2)</enum><text>commemorates the history, effective advocacy, and contributions to agriculture in Mississippi of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation. </text></paragraph></section></resolution-body></resolution>
