RES. 327</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210728">July 28, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S404">Mr. Scott of Florida</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S323">Mr. Risch</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S384">Mr. Tillis</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S411">Mr. Marshall</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S350">Mr. Rubio</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S376">Ms. Ernst</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S397">Mr. Braun</cosponsor>) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSRA00">Committee on Rules and Administration</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Amending the Standing Rules of the Senate to require inflationary impact statements in committee reports.</official-title></form><resolution-body><section id="S1" display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section"><text>That paragraph 11 of rule XXVI of the Standing Rules of the Senate is amended—</text><paragraph id="idECDD0F1684B54750AD36058067525911"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating subparagraph (c) as subparagraph (d);</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id912598ED1D9645CC9FD71CF70EFC1274"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after subparagraph (b) the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id6108F49A31E048AF9B8A8B0B458A5B0B"><subsection id="idD76C58778D0D434B9BAB379CC98E25AA"><enum>(c)</enum><text>Each committee report shall also contain a detailed analytical statement as to whether, and the extent to which, the increased budget authority, outlays, or revenue produced by the enactment of the bill or joint resolution into law may have an inflationary impact on prices and costs in the operation of the national economy. The statement shall also include whether, and the extent to which, the inflationary impact would affect the purchasing power of low and middle income families.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph><paragraph id="id8070C24EBC744D38ACA1BD1EFBE89D64"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in subparagraph (d), as so redesignated, by striking <quote>subparagraphs (a) and (b)</quote> and inserting <quote>subparagraphs (a), (b), and (c)</quote>.</text></paragraph></section></resolution-body></resolution>
