RES. 119</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date>March 17 (legislative day, March 16), 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S396">Mrs. Blackburn</sponsor> (for herself, <cosponsor name-id="S398">Mr. Cramer</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S266">Mr. Crapo</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S376">Ms. Ernst</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S407">Mr. Hagerty</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S388">Ms. Hassan</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S404">Mr. Scott of Florida</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S403">Ms. Sinema</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S318">Mr. Wicker</cosponsor>) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSRA00">Committee on Rules and Administration</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Establishing the Congressional Gold Star Family Fellowship Program for the placement in offices of Senators of children, spouses, and siblings of members of the Armed Forces who are hostile casualties or who have died from a training-related injury.</official-title></form><resolution-body style="OLC"><section section-type="section-one" id="H6C0742AC4A614CCAA519949DD6C48E9D"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This resolution may be cited as the <quote><short-title>SFC Sean Cooley and SPC Christopher Horton Congressional Gold Star Family Fellowship Program Resolution</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section display-inline="no-display-inline" section-type="subsequent-section" id="HFFADA5C488C9468C9971B8486AD419EB"><enum>2.</enum><header>Congressional Gold Star Fellowship Program</header><subsection id="HC05D6BBCD10C49E0B44E1796F70B24FA"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this section—</text><paragraph id="id0731750C1F914DF586E08CCBACE361E9"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the term <term>eligible individual</term> means an individual who is the child (including a stepchild), spouse, or sibling of a member of the Armed Forces who is a hostile casualty or died from a training-related injury;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H0453D96589BF46F8ABBC716921FEF956"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the terms <term>hostile casualty</term> and <term>training-related injury</term> have the meanings given those terms in section 2402(b) of title 38, United States Code; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id867161E2367941AABAC1182E8591B6CF"><enum>(3)</enum><text>the term <term>Program</term> means the Congressional Gold Star Family Fellowship Program established under subsection (b).</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id3BD84BEE9D3C466BA8E1EEEB4846FEA6"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Establishment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">There is established in the Senate the Congressional Gold Star Family Fellowship Program, under which an eligible individual may serve a 12-month fellowship in the office of a Senator.</text></subsection><subsection id="id00D896F8FA004BACAA8C0EB9EB834319"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Direction of Program</header><text>The Program shall be carried out under the direction of the Secretary of the Senate.</text></subsection><subsection id="HDD23855791D4437A8F38516E35C71D7A"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Placement in District of Columbia office or a State office</header><text>An individual may serve a fellowship under the Program at the office of a Senator in the District of Columbia or an office of the Senator in the State the Senator represents.</text></subsection><subsection id="H4D7F64D7B5174524A1F12E4289AC400C"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Regulations</header><text>The Program shall be carried out in accordance with regulations promulgated by the Committee on Rules and Administration of the Senate.</text></subsection></section></resolution-body></resolution>
