<enactingFormula style="-uslm-lc:I650120">  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa­tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</enactingFormula>
<section id="d58667e62" identifier="/us/bill/117/s/579/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I650146"><num value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>RETROACTIVE ACCESS TO SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY BENEFITS INDIVIDUALS WITH AMYOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS (ALS).</heading><subsection class="indentUp0 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d58667e66" identifier="/us/bill/117/s/579/s1/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I650120"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading><inline class="smallCaps">In General</inline>.—</heading><content>Section 2(b) of the ALS Disability Insurance Access Act of 2019 (<ref href="/us/pl/116/250">Public Law 116–250</ref>) <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction> by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>applications for disability insurance benefits filed after the date of enactment of this Act</quotedText>” and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>applications for disability insurance benefits approved after the date that is 5 months before the date of enactment of this Act</quotedText>”.</content></subsection><subsection class="indentUp0 firstIndent1 fontsize10" id="d58667e87" identifier="/us/bill/117/s/579/s1/b" style="-uslm-lc:I650120"><num style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading><inline class="smallCaps">Effective Date</inline>.—</heading><content>The amendment made by this section shall take effect as if included in the enactment of the ALS Disability Insurance Access Act of 2019 (<ref href="/us/pl/116/250">Public Law 116–250</ref>).</content></subsection></section>
