			 adjustments for Members of Congress</header><subsection id="IDAF6979AA86384907ADF608455869FD00"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
 general</header><text>Paragraph (2) of section 601(a) of the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/4501">2 U.S.C. 4501</external-xref>) is repealed.</text></subsection><subsection id="IDE78F57C41823426CB9F8CB983407B084"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Technical and
 conforming amendments</header><text>Section 601(a)(1) of such Act is amended—</text><paragraph id="ID7A83AAE078ED43AC888D6CB1C55B00A7"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>(a)(1)</quote> and inserting <quote>(a)</quote>;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="ID5A6CF4A5E5DE4A1081BFA41E6C053E40"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by redesignating subparagraphs (A), (B), and (C) as paragraphs (1), (2), and (3), respectively; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="ID1A5FC372D789421ABC42FCBABB5F3EA0"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by striking <quote>as adjusted by paragraph (2) of this subsection</quote> and inserting <quote>adjusted as provided by law</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="IDBDE592ECB5564E5D8BB3D45728282EFF"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effective
 date</header><text>This section and the amendments made by this section shall take effect on the date on which the 118th Congress convenes.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
