<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 5285</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20221215">December 15, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S409">Mr. Luján</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S316">Mr. Whitehouse</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S311">Ms. Klobuchar</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSHR00">Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To extend the residential treatment program for pregnant and postpartum women pilot program, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="idd442a423451a455ba880f8a47ca28eed" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Improving Treatment for Pregnant and Postpartum Women Act 2.0</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section section-type="subsequent-section" id="id11B5C26802814D5BADE5ADFD597726F2"><enum>2.</enum><header>Residential treatment program for pregnant and postpartum women pilot program reauthorization</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 508(r) of the Public Health Service Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/290bb-1">42 U.S.C. 290bb–1(r)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="id9c8f5f1b89954f2a8541a871b43a86b4"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking paragraph (4);</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idfc812f2ba3184e5da92c99f1d9d85d41"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by redesignating paragraphs (5) and (6) as paragraphs (4) and (5), respectively; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id1790f3565fff4d5c80d84d72031e1ee3"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B) of paragraph (4), as so redesignated—</text><subparagraph id="id76833e7f74944759a59d5e38a6001e66"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in the matter preceding clause (i), by striking <quote>The Director</quote> and inserting <quote>Not later than September 30, 2026, the Director</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id88a5266362514bcb90dd7baccf06372f"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking <quote>the relevant committees of jurisdiction of the House of Representatives and the Senate</quote> and inserting <quote>the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions of the Senate and the Committee on Energy and Commerce of the House of Representatives</quote>. </text></subparagraph></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
