which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEG00">Committee on Energy and Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act to designate a segment of the Little Manatee River in the State of Florida for study for potential addition to the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="HAAE52C4D705A404095C477ECDE800C33"><section section-type="section-one" id="HE5F677F649174589962981A18E028CD2"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Little Manatee Wild and Scenic River Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H18EBEA6036544BBC8412DC78B3C1B241"><enum>2.</enum><header>Designation for study of wild and scenic river segment, Little Manatee River, Florida</header><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id4be5b7628cff4becbe7d6181feedd525"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Designation</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 5(a) of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1276">16 U.S.C. 1276(a)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H0C4FD221CC3E4068980B5FC732381B50"><paragraph id="H9B6A868E69364A37AAE36DCCDC6987C8"><enum>(145)</enum><header>Little Manatee River, Florida</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The approximately 50-mile segment of the Little Manatee River beginning at the source in southeastern Hillsborough County, Florida, downstream to the point at which the river enters Tampa Bay, including appropriate tributaries, but excluding—</text><subparagraph id="HA970EFB7BEA342DFA0EAD30F01D872AD"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">those portions lying within Manatee County, Florida, that are more particularly described as—</text><clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id2b4dd1e1045c46f585fef7a2738c6d8b"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Parcel ID 247800059;</text></clause><clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id376d7611065b41c8a6c9d749b4547c23"><enum>(ii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Parcel ID 248200008; and </text></clause><clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id6e3f9e7adb3b47fdb2cad950320581c3"><enum>(iii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Parcel ID 248100000; and</text></clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H6122F500156F436CA4F1156CB73FAD0B"><enum>(B)</enum><text>South Fork.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection><subsection id="H582A4B18034745E6AC24FB960B2D90A7"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Study and report</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 5(b) of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1276">16 U.S.C. 1276(b)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H18C8CE27A6DD446C85FC2707C74A4691"><paragraph id="H25CBFA43EBF940F285CF2A767CC12992"><enum>(22)</enum><header>Little Manatee River, Florida</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are made available to carry out this paragraph, the Secretary of the Interior shall—</text><subparagraph id="HFD6B387A4DE947949FCF44E78DE83488"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">complete the study of the Little Manatee River, Florida, described in subsection (a)(145); and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H0B3705DE631C48119A3EC55C0194E413"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">submit to the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate and the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives a report that describes the results of the study described in subparagraph (A).</text></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection><subsection id="H9FB02C87C46C4C26A65918FB48772C78"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effect on management</header><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ide9a33df6b9464027affdd0102369fed9"><enum>(1)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Nothing in this Act or an amendment made by this Act interferes with the existing management of the segment of the Little Manatee River described in paragraph (145) of section 5(a) of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1276">16 U.S.C. 1276(a)</external-xref>).</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id85b02a4c107940868d21ba885cc2e6e0"><enum>(2)</enum><header>No justification for restrictive management</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The fact that the river segment described in paragraph (145) of section 5(a) of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1276">16 U.S.C. 1276(a)</external-xref>) is designated for study under that section shall not be used as justification for more restrictive management of the segment until the date on which Congress acts on the study recommendations.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
