<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 5211</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20221208">December 8, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S385">Ms. Cortez Masto</sponsor> (for herself and <cosponsor name-id="S287">Mr. Cornyn</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To authorize the use of specialized human trafficking training and technical assistance grants to train law enforcement personnel regarding the Interdiction for the Protection of Children program.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Interdiction for the Protection of Child Victims of Exploitation and Human Trafficking Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="idfb3c592d066542279033fa04bddc418b"><enum>2.</enum><header>Interdiction for the Protection of Children program</header><subsection id="id2BDD272A2CAF4785AB308AA481C5146D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 111(c)(1) of the Violence Against Women and Department of Justice Reauthorization Act of 2005 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/34/20708">34 U.S.C. 20708(c)(1)</external-xref>) is amended by inserting <quote>, which may include programs to build law enforcement capacity to identify and respond to human trafficking that are funded through the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services of the Department of Justice</quote> before the semicolon at the end. </text></subsection><subsection id="idd3799ac3c3c048bab12e0d63dbe64b7a"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming amendment</header><text>Section 107(c)(4)(A) of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/7105">22 U.S.C. 7105(c)(4)(A)</external-xref>) is amended by inserting <quote>in order to fulfill the purposes described in section 111(c) of the Violence Against Women and Department of Justice Reauthorization Act of 2005 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/34/20708">34 U.S.C. 20708(c)</external-xref>)</quote> before the period at the end. </text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
