<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 5132</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20221117">November 17, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S359">Mr. Heinrich</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEG00">Committee on Energy and Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To correct the boundary of the Chaco Culture National Historical Park in the State of New Mexico, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="idaa2c6399d6c845b588e9d400a7417f1f" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Pueblo Pintado Protection Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id370A1F28F97F442CBF919C171DAEBB8D"><enum>2.</enum><header>Chaco Culture National Historical Park boundary correction</header><subsection id="id389C15E362F7487EA39EE52D8EC26D68"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The boundary of the Chaco Culture National Historical Park in the State of New Mexico is revised to reflect the boundary identified as <quote>Adjusted Boundary</quote> on the map entitled <quote>Chaco Culture National Historical Park Proposed Boundary Correction</quote>, numbered 310/126,526B, and dated November 19, 2018 (referred to in this section as the <quote>map</quote>). </text></subsection><subsection id="id1afba71248be431b84a54e9084239c03"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Transfers of administrative jurisdiction</header><text>Subject to the consent of the Navajo Nation—</text><paragraph id="id652DFD97402F4F20BAB719CB5C2AF426"><enum>(1)</enum><text>administrative jurisdiction over the surface estate of the land removed from the Chaco Culture National Historical Park under subsection (a), as depicted on the map, is transferred from the National Park Service to the Bureau of Indian Affairs, to be held in trust by the United States for the benefit of the Navajo Nation; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idC5692E05E3294001B6DB07625BF96AE8"><enum>(2)</enum><text>administrative jurisdiction over the surface estate of the land added to the Chaco Culture National Historical Park under subsection (a), as depicted on the map, is transferred from the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Bureau of Land Management to the National Park Service.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
