<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 4707</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20220802">August 2, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S349">Mr. Portman</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S307">Mr. Brown</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEG00">Committee on Energy and Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend the National Trails System Act to direct the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a study on the feasibility of designating the Buckeye Trail as a national scenic trail, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="H1FA340B23D40428DACE4F59450F1DABD"><section section-type="section-one" id="H77B4CE7B2DBC4D609E3EE3AAFB5AF2DE"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Buckeye National Scenic Trail Feasibility Study Act of 2022</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HDFD6775677C54887B11681BB0EC12572"><enum>2.</enum><header>Buckeye National Scenic Trail Feasibility Study</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 5(c) of the National Trails System Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1244">16 U.S.C. 1244(c)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following: </text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H63DB3DF2CE584B518B835D9F74D841F7"><paragraph id="HFB370272A59347B691E6424B46F2AE64"><enum>(48)</enum><header>Buckeye Trail</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Buckeye Trail, a system of trails creating a loop extending approximately 1,454 miles from Lake Erie to the Ohio River, through the farmland of northwest Ohio, the hills of Appalachia, the Black Hand sandstone cliffs of the Hocking Hills region, and the Bluegrass region of southwest Ohio. </text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></legis-body></bill>
