<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 4683</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20220728">July 28, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S349">Mr. Portman</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S307">Mr. Brown</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEV00">Committee on Environment and Public Works</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend the River and Harbor Act of 1958 to improve provisions relating to invasive species management, and for other purposes. </official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Aquatic Invasive Species Control Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section section-type="subsequent-section" id="id0B7623D0A0F44092906793CB9297DA33"><enum>2.</enum><header>Invasive species management</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 104 of the River and Harbor Act of 1958 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/33/610">33 U.S.C. 610</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="id5e49bce41e50430cbb64c405a5b1749a"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (b)(2)(A)(ii)—</text><subparagraph id="ida52ab5fc12504da696390930fe782208"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>$50,000,000</quote> and inserting <quote>$75,000,000</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id59fefd62f44542969431f934aed9f4ed"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking <quote>2024</quote> and inserting <quote>2028</quote>; and</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="id9ebba27377534ee4b653fdf61ddd15b2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (g)(2)—</text><subparagraph id="id7e4911aaadc04a528aab1c102aca71da"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A)—</text><clause id="id7c8afc8428234e1fa30b599dcc333ae1"><enum>(i)</enum><text>by striking <quote>water quantity or water quality</quote> and inserting <quote>water quantity, water quality, or ecosystems</quote>; and</text></clause><clause id="id5fb98f60e20842fca8f9f2c6fd05b11e"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>by inserting <quote>the Lake Erie Basin, the Ohio River Basin,</quote> after <quote>the Upper Snake River Basin,</quote>; and</text></clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id98aa7cface8e4ed8ab7d991dc9e77048"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B), by inserting <quote>, hydrilla (<italic>Hydrilla verticillata</italic>),</quote> after <quote><italic>angustifolia</italic>)</quote>. </text></subparagraph></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
