<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 4319</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20220526">May 26, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S373">Mr. Cassidy</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S341">Mr. Blumenthal</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSVA00">Committee on Veterans' Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend title 38, United States Code, to direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to regularly promote programs under chapter 31 of such title.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="H3FDA86447E964059B838D186C078183C"><section section-type="section-one" id="HAD4CD6333B9B4CFAB4F9CBD6231626D7"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Informing Veterans on Education for Transitioning Servicemembers Act of 2022</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>Informing VETS Act of 2022</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section section-type="subsequent-section" id="H7DE5CF3632F0470DB9889D55FF962485"><enum>2.</enum><header>Information campaign regarding Veteran Readiness and Employment Program</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 3116 of title 38, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text><quoted-block style="USC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HDC64B00290E74B6CBBBED2AB0324C689"><subsection id="HCF57B2CB65394B4790D84282CB955CB7"><enum>(c)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary shall regularly promote programs under this chapter by—</text><paragraph id="HCCA090B0AC984DEA9889A99EC4552CE4"><enum>(1)</enum><text>sending a letter to each veteran entitled to such a program that explains the educational benefits of such programs; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HCE0DC8CD45984720B450E989BC451234"><enum>(2)</enum><text>providing a side-by-side comparison of benefits between such programs and educational assistance under chapter 33 of this title—</text><subparagraph id="H5652C267A4EA4A81861FB85CD8CC227A"><enum>(A)</enum><text>with each letter under paragraph (1); and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H952CE100146C4BB88A6F7198266F4878"><enum>(B)</enum><text>on a publicly accessible website of the Department.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></legis-body></bill>
