<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 4305</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20220525">May 25, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S404">Mr. Scott of Florida</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSFR00">Committee on Foreign Relations</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To limit the authority of the World Health Organization on the United States and to oppose amendments to the WHO Constitution that have not been approved by Congress.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="id4cb96fc7604f4edeb1f410b6084aab7c" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>World Health Organization</header><subsection id="idF55231B8CFAD4D53A15FA5DA27401AAB"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Effect of World Health Organization directives and orders on the United States</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the United States shall not be bound by any directive or order issued by the World Health Assembly, the World Health Organization, or any agent or branch of the World Health Organization.</text></subsection><subsection id="id992fea413de4460098d84d83f48d452b"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Opposition to amendments to the Constitution of the World Health Organization and any other agreements among member states without congressional approval</header><text>The Secretary of Health and Human Services and any other United States official designated by the President to represent the United States at the World Health Organization in any capacity shall use the voice, vote, and influence of the United States to oppose any amendments to the Constitution of the World Health Organization and any other agreements among the member states unless Congress has enacted a joint resolution in support of such amendments.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
