<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 4212</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20220512">May 12, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S389">Mr. Kennedy</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSHR00">Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To require the Food and Drug Administration to publish guidelines for parents to prepare baby formula at home.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Mother and Baby Formula Safety Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id8AED7DC5A28449B59530E5803D082FAF"><enum>2.</enum><header>Guidelines on preparing baby formula</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The Secretary of Health and Human Services shall publish on the website of the Food and Drug Administration guidelines for parents unable to obtain commercially available baby formula that include—</text><paragraph id="id19E8F6DC38AA4BE8A9C4EFAA382F4339"><enum>(1)</enum><text>do-it-yourself instructions for preparing safe baby formulas at home; </text></paragraph><paragraph id="id982F747371D346F887A490290BAE0271"><enum>(2)</enum><text>resources for parents on how to find baby formula alternatives; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idE2A7E8C16D5F43EE8405C08C054BCB9C"><enum>(3)</enum><text>other suggested alternatives.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
