<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 3872</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20220317">March 17, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S399">Mr. Hawley</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSBK00">Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To clarify the jurisdiction of the Special Inspector General for Pandemic Recovery, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause"><section section-type="section-one" id="id8C2D34C5279E4B0485F7B359D28F0EDA"><enum>1.</enum><header>Jurisdiction of the Special Inspector General for Pandemic Recovery</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 4018(c)(1) of the CARES Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/9053">15 U.S.C. 9053(c)(1)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>this Act</quote> each place that term appears and inserting <quote>this division</quote>.</text></section><section id="id655fad76ca21412f9aca42a337eb4cdf"><enum>2.</enum><header>Appropriations</header><subsection id="id4C7633ED68EE46348395C50DCA754531"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is appropriated to the Special Inspector General for Pandemic Recovery, out of amounts in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, $25,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2022 through 2025 to carry out the provisions of section 4018 of the CARES Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/9053">15 U.S.C. 9053</external-xref>), as amended by section 1 of this Act.</text></subsection><subsection id="id5856f28510384b6c8b96b28c86b9411b"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Emergency designation</header><paragraph id="id077536a9a7584d1aac2fb2d57a958f83"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The amounts appropriated under this section are designated as an emergency requirement pursuant to section 4(g) of the Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Act of 2010 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/933">2 U.S.C. 933(g)</external-xref>).</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idd05d2aad5958429284e86c1569380b4a"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Designation in senate</header><text>In the Senate, subparagraph (A) is designated as an emergency requirement pursuant to section 4112(a) of H. Con. Res. 71 (115th Congress), the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2018. </text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
