<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 3555</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20220202">February 2, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S404">Mr. Scott of Florida</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S376">Ms. Ernst</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S350">Mr. Rubio</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S348">Mr. Paul</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S410">Ms. Lummis</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S317">Mr. Barrasso</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S383">Mr. Sullivan</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSHR00">Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 to clarify the scope of the authority for emergency temporary standards, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>OSHA ETS Clarification Act of 2022</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id1E9DD3AA50A94CA7BCFDBBD383E644F2"><enum>2.</enum><header>OSHA emergency temporary standard</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 6(c) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/655">29 U.S.C. 655(c)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="id6B7366F037344B46B3D507A1D93CA733"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote>and (B)</quote> and inserting <quote>(B) the exposure to the substances, agents, or new hazards arises exclusively from within the workplace to be covered by the emergency temporary standard, or is unique and specific to the workplace to be covered by the emergency temporary standard, and (C)</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idBA141D90443D423E82E5F53023ECD175"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting <quote>within the workplace</quote> after <quote>such danger</quote>.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
