<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 3314</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20211206">December 6, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S343">Mr. Boozman</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S413">Mr. Padilla</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S411">Mr. Marshall</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S314">Mr. Tester</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSFI00">Committee on Finance</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to extend certain increases in payments for physicians’ services under the Medicare program through 2022.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="HCD65B84591DF4F84A671CF0FE6793D99"><section section-type="section-one" id="H2D6A277383844B65B42F7C3562F83814"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Supporting Medicare Providers Act of 2021</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H2282AAE3F48C4E68AB672BC111B04663"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extending certain increases in payments for physicians’ services under the Medicare program through 2022</header><subsection id="H42E91BBE9FC44334B7CF63749AE20CB1"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1848(t) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1395w-4">42 U.S.C. 1395w–4(t)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="HF2F68CBAB3774874A4870B136F973174"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (1)—</text><subparagraph id="HE3E1AC76C8EF48E49537EC7648AD6306"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>during 2021</quote> and inserting <quote>during 2021 or 2022</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HA8B3EBBC3339428E9619486E01B9F2C8"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking <quote>January 1, 2022</quote> and inserting <quote>January 1, 2023</quote>; and</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H709C4C1C9D8E4BE5ACCF286C530E1BC4"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (2)(C)—</text><subparagraph id="H1C837697E25F4E29810C0B3097109A19"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in the header, by striking <quote><header-in-text level="subparagraph" style="OLC">2021</header-in-text></quote> and inserting <quote><header-in-text level="subparagraph" style="OLC">2021 and 2022</header-in-text></quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H4B77CFC0234E44DEA08D2699E2900F42"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote>after 2021</quote> and inserting <quote>after 2022</quote>.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H0228E293087B43A5B3285711A127E339"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming amendment</header><text>Section 1848(c)(2)(B)(iv)(V) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1395w-4">42 U.S.C. 1395w–4(c)(2)(B)(iv)(V)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>2021</quote> and inserting <quote>2021 or 2022</quote>. </text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
