<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 3304</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20211202">December 2, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S389">Mr. Kennedy</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S415">Mr. Warnock</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSVA00">Committee on Veterans' Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend title 38, United States Code, to improve the ability of veterans to electronically submit complaints about the delivery of health care services by the Department of Veterans Affairs.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="HB9FFB0141B0D4215A34355BBBB8E7BFF"><section section-type="section-one" id="H45ABB8240ACA4E1F8EFD88B8512E0EA0"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Patient Advocate Tracker Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H311E5781622A444D8714A7EDFCEA6B90"><enum>2.</enum><header>System for electronic submission of complaints about the delivery of health care services by the Department of Veterans Affairs</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 7309A(c) of title 38, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph:</text><quoted-block style="USC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HD5105F9BF22C40AF81D51B9D1565E7C7"><paragraph id="H847FE892D91140C18DAF6BDE7083C01E" indent="up1"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Beginning not later than 18 months after the date of the enactment of this paragraph, the Director shall establish an information technology system that will allow a veteran (or the designated representative of a veteran) to electronically—</text><subparagraph id="HED8B277E35F74A50B6FB9E78A35A519B"><enum>(A)</enum><text>file a complaint that will be received by the appropriate patient advocate; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H92A934034C5D43B1950140B24A413F61"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">at any time view the status of the complaint, including interim and final actions that have been taken to address the complaint.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></legis-body></bill>
