Delivery of a controlled substance by a pharmacy to an administering practitioner

Section 309A of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 829a) is amended—(1)in subsection (a)(5), by striking 14 days and inserting 60 days; and(2)in subsection (b)—(A)by striking paragraph (1);(B)by redesignating paragraphs (2) and (3) as paragraphs (1) and (2), respectively;(C)in paragraph (1), as so redesignated, by striking the Attorney General, and all that follows and inserting the following:the Attorney General may modify the number of days described in subsection (a)(5) if the Secretary determines that the modification will—(A)reduce the risk of diversion; or(B)protect the public health.; and(D)in paragraph (2), as so redesignated, by striking 7 days and inserting 14 days.
