<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 3147</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20211103">November 3, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S402">Ms. Rosen</sponsor> (for herself and <cosponsor name-id="S376">Ms. Ernst</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSAS00">Committee on Armed Services</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To provide members of the reserve components access to the Tour of Duty system.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="id1b583b32599f410db1f6a2c4a3ff4fb4" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Reservists Opportunity Act of 2021</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section section-type="subsequent-section" id="id1D8992F160DF4458B800A758FC4FD498"><enum>2.</enum><header>Access to Tour of Duty system</header><subsection id="id647fde9154964c1685ef65cd1bb4f422"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Access</header><paragraph id="id6dc58e5170d04cf699b7e561cb04f2f2"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Army shall ensure, subject to paragraph (2), that a member of the reserve components of the Army may access the Tour of Duty system using a personal internet-enabled device. </text></paragraph><paragraph id="id1cef06f491dd4be68e45e2a165dbfa0e"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Exception</header><text>The Secretary of the Army may restrict access to the Tour of Duty system on personal internet-enabled devices if the Secretary determines such restriction is necessary to ensure the security and integrity of information systems and data of the United States. </text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="idfdd2590e3e324e8e94a30b37db20cd3c"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Tour of duty system defined</header><text>In this section, the term <term>Tour of Duty system</term> means the online system of listings for opportunities to serve on active duty for members of the reserve components of the Army and through which such a member may apply for such an opportunity, known as <quote>Tour of Duty</quote>, or any successor to such system. </text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
