<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 2942</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20211006">October 6, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S370">Mr. Booker</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S306">Mr. Menendez</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEG00">Committee on Energy and Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To reauthorize the Crossroads of the American Revolution National Heritage Area, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="H103C65E39EFA44AB9D61A1D770F6143A"><section section-type="section-one" id="HEEF4EC1EF77B4696A1E7DDAF98B0F19E"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Crossroads of the American Revolution National Heritage Area Act of 2021</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HEEB1BA1BC610441789BB0B0A7E6B8D82"><enum>2.</enum><header>Removal of funding limitation; Reauthorization</header><subsection id="H05E3531F80384069ADEF0F56B1A6860A"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Removal of funding limitation</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 297G(a) of the National Heritage Areas Act of 2006 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/54/320101">54 U.S.C. 320101</external-xref> note; <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/109/338">Public Law 109–338</external-xref>, 120 Stat. 1844) is amended to read as follows:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HABA7380C3D7C4716BA1D7F6FE8683D8B"><subsection id="HDE65D37D57164CAFA6AA6A5C3ABE1FCE"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out this subtitle $1,000,000 for each fiscal year.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection><subsection commented="no" id="HB21F60A8379949AFB78AB2BA6FFB88B3"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Reauthorization</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 297H of the National Heritage Areas Act of 2006 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/54/320101">54 U.S.C. 320101</external-xref> note; <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/109/338">Public Law 109–338</external-xref>, 120 Stat. 1844) is amended by striking <quote>terminates on the date that is 15 years after the date of enactment of this Act</quote> and inserting <quote>terminates on September 30, 2036</quote>.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
