<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 2832</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20210923">September 23, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S346">Mr. Lee</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S404">Mr. Scott of Florida</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSBK00">Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To prohibit the National Flood Insurance Program from providing flood insurance subsidies for single-family residences that are valued at more than $1,000,000, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>No NFIP Subsidies for Millionaires Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="idCB581408AD7246479559BB70845CC2FC"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on flood insurance subsidies for single-family homes valued at over $1,000,000</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1307 of the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/4014">42 U.S.C. 4014</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="id42333B897B5A43BB83C45654E27C1034"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating subsection (h) as subsection (i); and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idA3AFB68D9BF24DBD8069BE2959F83CF0"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after subsection (g) the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id351B6171A11B45BFA17EED6F95D36F79"><subsection id="id97BDD51658264E72B24A0BC0EAD91BE4"><enum>(h)</enum><header>Prohibition on subsidies for single-Family homes valued at over $1,000,000</header><text>The premium rate for flood insurance under this title for a property consisting of 1 residence with an assessed value, at the time of acquiring or renewing the flood insurance policy, of more than $1,000,000—</text><paragraph id="id89009667F3914642AD4D2C1FDF90E4CF"><enum>(1)</enum><text>shall be based on sound actuarial principles; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id53ABD74C48A74A3EBDB724CB07B862E2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>shall not be subject to any cap on the increase in the premium rate for flood insurance.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
