<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 2763</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20210920">September 20, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S284">Ms. Stabenow</sponsor> (for herself and <cosponsor name-id="S380">Mr. Peters</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEG00">Committee on Energy and Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To extend the authorization for the MotorCities National Heritage Area in the State of Michigan, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="H2C7740025BFE47818FA7AB52B3319DBD"><section section-type="section-one" id="H859B56821B0F452E8558FC0662088344"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Preserving the Mo­tor­Cities Heritage Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HBE5108D878CC4C1EA0184BC5BA81CEC5"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extension of motorcities national heritage area authorization</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The Automobile National Heritage Area Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/105/355">Public Law 105–355</external-xref>; 112 Stat. 3247 et seq.) is amended—</text><paragraph id="HCFE7E92E702B458CA2C4CABF0799B02A"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in section 109, by striking <quote>September 30, 2021</quote> and inserting <quote>September 30, 2036</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H7D3D8FE47E344E84ABACF52E18724BEC"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in section 110—</text><subparagraph id="H3B2EB2C821334ECD8FB6540E275E86B4"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by amending subsection (a) to read as follows:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="H5B0745AB27FE4179977B7A8BFC3492E3"><subsection id="H64DFC252E95C48548B641C8D2AF19A8F"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Annual appropriations; limitation on total appropriations</header><paragraph id="H9AF09ADDE07D4B1C886B2D95D2F53591"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Annual appropriations</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">There are authorized to be appropriated under this title not more than $1,000,000 for any fiscal year.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HE56BE438570449098E6F8C2C1C0FB0CC"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Limitation on total appropriations</header><text>Not more than a total of $23,250,000 may be appropriated for the Heritage Area under this title.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H2CC8EA7718F94D73A7CDBABB0A92CB30"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subsection (b), by adding before the period <quote>, except that for fiscal years 2022 and 2023 the matching requirement shall be waived due to negative economic ramifications of the COVID–19 pandemic</quote>.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
