<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 1960</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20210607">June 7, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S389">Mr. Kennedy</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSBK00">Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To restrict the ability of the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency to adjust the rates for flood insurance coverage under the National Flood Insurance Program, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Flood Insurance Fairness Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id1F306B6F7FFC4486B3FC4270E24F883E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Chargeable premium rates</header><subsection id="id5CC54D3442334BAD9DCD1B325745335B"><enum/><text>Notwithstanding any other provision of law, including section 1308 of the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/4015">42 U.S.C. 4015</external-xref>), with respect to the chargeable premium rates described in subsection (a)(1) of that section, as in effect on the date of enactment of this Act, the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency may not adjust those rates unless a duly enacted law of the United States enacted after the date of enactment of this Act provides the Administrator with that authority.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
