<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 1766</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20210520">May 20, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S236">Mr. Inhofe</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S343">Mr. Boozman</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S374">Mr. Cotton</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEV00">Committee on Environment and Public Works</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 to designate United States Route 412 as a future part of the Interstate System, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Future Interstate in Oklahoma and Arkansas Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id546DBBD8492241C288BAB74AD5C1B012"><enum>2.</enum><header>Future interstate designation</header><subsection id="id17eec9293ec94ff7b1dfb1d2f847d695"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Designation as high priority corridor</header><text>Section 1105(c) of the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/102/240">Public Law 102–240</external-xref>; 105 Stat. 2032; 133 Stat. 3018) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id7903f35939a142ff9a8299c727aeeeb7"><paragraph id="id527f39ff134d4b93985edacdf71f15e3"><enum>(92)</enum><text>The route that generally follows United States Route 412 from its intersection with Interstate 35 in Noble County, Oklahoma, passing through Tulsa, Oklahoma, to its intersection with Interstate 49 in Springdale, Arkansas.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection><subsection id="idc640e25d472c441c9562f05174c26719"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Designation as future interstate</header><text>Section 1105(e)(5)(A) of the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/102/240">Public Law 102–240</external-xref>; 109 Stat. 597; 133 Stat. 3018) is amended in the first sentence by striking <quote>and subsection (c)(91)</quote> and inserting <quote>subsection (c)(91), and subsection (c)(92)</quote>.</text></subsection><subsection id="id789aeb04cb2a4944aa479e3f2d9b89ec"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Vehicle weight limitations</header><text>Section 127 of title 23, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id61f015cf3ce54889839e844cc233180b"><subsection id="id615ecc9fa4854c01bee2d99827c9f385"><enum>(v)</enum><header>Operation of vehicles on certain Oklahoma highways</header><text>If any segment of highway referred to in paragraph (92) of section 1105(c) of the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/102/240">Public Law 102–240</external-xref>; 105 Stat. 2032; 133 Stat. 3018) is designated as a route on the Interstate System, a vehicle that could operate legally on that segment before the date of such designation may continue to operate on that segment, without regard to any requirement under this section.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
