<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 1674</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20210518">May 18, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S385">Ms. Cortez Masto</sponsor> (for herself, <cosponsor name-id="S413">Mr. Padilla</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S221">Mrs. Feinstein</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S313">Mr. Sanders</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S322">Mr. Merkley</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSBK00">Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 to authorize use of amounts under the Troubled Assets Relief Program to be used for activities under the Housing Trust Fund, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="HA1D4742F365C45D39C1E3CC3F18C3B1E"><section section-type="section-one" id="H8303F99E9A904132A541ACFBA2F594EA"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Affordable Housing Production Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H963753B28A254AFCB91B2C624074BA0E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Use of TARP amounts</header><subsection id="HBA058F110C85414D87E5901295480CFE"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In General</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/12/5201">12 U.S.C. 5201</external-xref> et seq.) is amended by inserting after section 110 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/12/5220">12 U.S.C. 5220</external-xref>) the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H23E738AC83E143489CB71C2D1843EFAB"><section id="H3279937881074EC3AFAF54906B36C523"><enum>110A.</enum><header>Other assistance</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Notwithstanding section 115(a), section 120, or any other provision of law, the Secretary may use any amounts made available under this title that are not otherwise obligated for deposit in and use only to provide assistance under the Housing Trust Fund under section 1338 of the Federal Housing Enterprises Financial Safety and Soundness Act of 1992 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/12/4568">12 U.S.C. 4568</external-xref>).</text></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection><subsection id="H7CE72661DE88407C9968A86BB82CE5D5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clerical amendment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The table of contents in section 1(b) of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/12/5201">12 U.S.C. 5201</external-xref> note) is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 110 the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HFF5D6CF6947D4B089160E8D998FC6A08"><toc regeneration="no-regeneration"><toc-entry level="section">110A.
