<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 1620</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20210513">May 13, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S389">Mr. Kennedy</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEG00">Committee on Energy and Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To direct the Secretary of the Interior to convey to the city of Eunice, Louisiana, certain Federal land in the State of Louisiana, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="H0BCA44222F4F4BE69A33B4E810255252"><section section-type="section-one" id="H833D0CB4483B4C168C0345AD79E36191"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Save the Liberty Theatre Act of 2021</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HB1710B23BA4F482E9730E54EC0338060"><enum>2.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In this Act:</text><paragraph id="H53A839E0E0554EB3B42B93491F22D96E"><enum>(1)</enum><header>City</header><text>The term <term>City</term> means the city of Eunice, Louisiana.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HBBB2169AD9E84DCFADEA6B07B75D6CA9"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Map</header><text>The term <term>map</term> means the map entitled <quote>Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, Proposed Boundary Revision and Disposal</quote>, numbered 467/168813, and dated December 2020.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H633F4100378449138D266E244883F900"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Secretary</header><text>The term <term>Secretary</term> means the Secretary of the Interior.</text></paragraph></section><section id="H3156B866493344689B7D9039CFC554D4"><enum>3.</enum><header>Land conveyance</header><subsection id="HBEE795A1CA44449CBE037F2B701BF89A"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Conveyance authority</header><text>The Secretary shall convey to the City, by quitclaim deed and without consideration, all right, title, and interest of the United States in and to the parcels of land described in subsection (b).</text></subsection><subsection id="H42D9FA74CB914D7E93092FDE4799D973"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Description of land</header><text>The parcels of land referred to in subsection (a) are lots 5 and 6, less the north 27 feet of lot 5, Block 22, of the Original Townsite of Eunice, Louisiana, generally depicted as <quote>Proposed Disposal Area</quote> on the map.</text></subsection><subsection id="HF29513EC018342239D3720048D86F467"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Availability of map</header><text>The map shall be on file and available for public inspection in the appropriate offices of the National Park Service.</text></subsection></section><section id="H0BCA59333B764AA1B916173AAC4C9DD3"><enum>4.</enum><header>Boundary adjustments</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">On the conveyance to the City of the land described in section 3(b), the boundary of the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve shall be adjusted to exclude—</text><paragraph id="HB1647029254A409DBC88F8249AFD7148"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the conveyed land; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HEE3E69DF6BF84C019E14854B2B2A7C35"><enum>(2)</enum><text>lots 7 and 8 of the Original Townsite of Eunice, Louisiana, generally depicted as <quote>Non-NPS in Current Boundary</quote> on the map.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
