which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEG00">Committee on Energy and Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To establish the Chiricahua National Park in the State of Arizona as a unit of the National Park System, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause"><section section-type="section-one" id="S1"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Chiricahua National Park Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id445629EA38834F8898D219E77A61C58D"><enum>2.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In this Act:</text><paragraph id="id4BF813C163E143BF97980293092E847B"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Monument</header><text>The term <term>Monument</term> means the Chiricahua National Monument established by Presidential Proclamation 1692 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/54/320301">54 U.S.C. 320301</external-xref> note; 43 Stat. 1946).</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id106D7542CC5E4B65AE4871C78F6BEB13"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Park</header><text>The term <term>Park</term> means the Chiricahua National Park established by section 3(a).</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id8BAB954411FB42C8B2ADC1162E27CC4D"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Secretary</header><text>The term <term>Secretary</term> means the Secretary of the Interior.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idBC7C865A1C1E4CE0B7EB34D65E6F23AE"><enum>(4)</enum><header>State</header><text>The term <term>State</term> means the State of Arizona.</text></paragraph></section><section id="id83b3ab7643994b9195a62970514cf3de"><enum>3.</enum><header>Establishment of Chiricahua National Park</header><subsection id="id2cf595e1c4d44870978574271866dc1c"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Establishment</header><text>To protect, preserve, and interpret the rhyolitic rock formations, biodiversity, and other natural and cultural resources of the area, there is established in the State as a unit of the National Park System the Chiricahua National Park.</text></subsection><subsection id="idc0464aad4cfc4b88b253f78d3a34945a"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Boundaries</header><paragraph id="idE3A8CA2B442748E0B04C0EDC4E886298"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The boundaries of the Park are as generally depicted on the map entitled <quote>Chiricahua National Park Proposed Boundary</quote>, numbered 145/156,356, and dated March 2021.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idE4C46A669E014FA79E7639D4012F1F3B"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Availability of map</header><text>The map shall be on file and available for public inspection in the appropriate offices of the National Park Service.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="idccb45da2f3c24a9494fba2224ad943b6"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Abolishment of chiricahua national monument</header><paragraph id="idCD73916DD4624E1A96C770755DDDAE05"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Abolishment</header><text>The Monument is abolished.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id2E2045E353124B84A78147BF5E6E52BD"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Incorporation</header><text>The land and any interest in land that constitute the Monument (as in existence on the day before the date of enactment of this Act) are incorporated in, and shall be considered to be part of, the Park.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id0DA5DA6D73AF444EB27114006C6254F1"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Availability of funds</header><text>Any funds available for the Monument shall be available for the Park.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="idbe4c5d7b7c1a43659ae8df14c9c930cd"><enum>(d)</enum><header>References</header><paragraph id="id32106e9d16c34425a67e8866d91051f3"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Any reference in a law, map, regulation, document, paper, or other record of the United States to the <quote>Chiricahua National Monument</quote> shall be considered to be a reference to the <quote>Chiricahua National Park</quote>.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id9d86fd4d46c54bb3a64997a950cd665b"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Wilderness</header><text>Any reference in a law, map, regulation, document, paper, or other record of the United States to the <quote>Chiricahua National Monument Wilderness</quote> designated by <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/94/567">Public Law 94–567</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1132">16 U.S.C. 1132</external-xref> note; 90 Stat. 2692) shall be considered to be a reference to the <quote>Chiricahua National Park Wilderness</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id392ed032a37c4547a31174889915fd49"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Administration</header><text>The Secretary shall administer the Park in accordance with—</text><paragraph id="id6CFB061E860746DB84A97B0210F013C9"><enum>(1)</enum><text>this Act; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id59145189ADA2449B86B067D531503951"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the laws generally applicable to units of the National Park System.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
