<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><calendar>Calendar No. 258</calendar><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 1317</legis-num><associated-doc role="report">[Report No. 117–61]</associated-doc><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20210422">April 22, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S406">Mr. Kelly</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S403">Ms. Sinema</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEG00" added-display-style="italic" deleted-display-style="strikethrough">Committee on Energy and Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><action stage="Reported-in-Senate"><action-date>January 31, 2022</action-date><action-desc>Reported by <sponsor name-id="S338">Mr. Manchin</sponsor>, without amendment</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To modify the boundary of the Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument in the State of Arizona, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause"><section section-type="section-one" id="S1"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument Boundary Adjustment Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="idC3D36176093448B085C4C8D37ECF7BAA"><enum>2.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In this Act:</text><paragraph id="id25B83252BC97409D8F4C9A670751C7E5"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Federal land</header><text>The term <quote>Federal land</quote> means the approximately 97.71 acres of Forest Service land identified as <quote>Proposed transfer from USDA Forest Service to National Park Service</quote> on the Map. </text></paragraph><paragraph id="id243C7A0DFE2C4EA599BE18A9973C2336"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Map</header><text>The term <quote>Map</quote> means the map entitled <quote>Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument Draft Proposed Boundary Adjustment </quote>, numbered 039/80,053d, and dated January 2021.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id85E96F180FBD4BD58C0BC8A7B78F9B2F"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Monument</header><text>The term <quote>Monument</quote> means the Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument established by Presidential Proclamation 1911 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/54/320301">54 U.S.C. 320301</external-xref> note; 46 Stat. 3023) and redesignated by section 15 of the Smith River National Recreation Area Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/101/612">Public Law 101–612</external-xref>; 104 Stat. 3222).</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id5C4AAE9770224E32B5CF2201D816551E"><enum>(4)</enum><header>Secretary</header><text>The term <quote>Secretary</quote> means the Secretary of the Interior, acting through the Director of the National Park Service. </text></paragraph></section><section id="id1c6258176e3847e08688337208ca152c"><enum>3.</enum><header>Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument boundary modification</header><subsection id="idce9920aa5fdb4d3e8c78c3630383c6d6"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Transfer of administrative jurisdiction to national park service</header><text>Administrative jurisdiction over the Federal land is transferred from the Forest Service to the National Park Service.</text></subsection><subsection id="id6e54aabe8bda4f8a8b992fcd68570a98"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Map availability</header><text>The Map shall be on file and available for inspection in the appropriate offices of the National Park Service.</text></subsection><subsection id="id5308ed0b5fef44199da4d69d410c27d5"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Boundary modification</header><text>The boundary of the Monument is modified to include the Federal land. </text></subsection><subsection id="id3982d1f8f9b149359198249e365c3a08"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Administration</header><text>Subject to valid existing rights, the Secretary shall administer the Federal land added to the Monument under subsection (a)—</text><paragraph id="id180BA7F88C0543379E679965D8BD4D17"><enum>(1)</enum><text>as part of the Monument; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id5B39745E019C4273853F29248209D256"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in accordance with applicable laws (including regulations).</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body><endorsement><action-date>January 31, 2022</action-date><action-desc>Reported without amendment</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
