<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 1205</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20210419">April 19, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S396">Mrs. Blackburn</sponsor> (for herself, <cosponsor name-id="S398">Mr. Cramer</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S381">Mr. Rounds</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S375">Mr. Daines</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S355">Mr. Cruz</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S384">Mr. Tillis</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S376">Ms. Ernst</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S404">Mr. Scott of Florida</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S346">Mr. Lee</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSFR00">Committee on Foreign Relations</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To prohibit the use of Federal funds relating to rejoining the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with Iran unless the President commits to submitting any successor agreement to the Senate for its advice and consent as a treaty.</official-title></form><legis-body style="OLC" display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="HD3F381F41B7F45D68FB1FB078B190440"><section section-type="section-one" id="H39C16C0A3993424DBCFEC1CE26539936"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Iran Nuclear Deal Advice and Consent Act of 2021</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="HD50E7540D47147E5B2C7E646B1BCFB44"><enum>2.</enum><header>Limitation on use of funds to rejoin the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no Federal funds may be obligated or expended in furtherance of rejoining the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action signed at Vienna on July 14, 2015, by Iran and by France, Germany, the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, the United Kingdom, and the United States (including all implementing materials and agreements related to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) (in this section referred to as the <quote>JCPOA</quote>) unless the President submits in writing to the House of Representatives and the Senate the commitment of the President to submitting any JCPOA successor agreement to the Senate for advice and consent as a treaty rather than as an international agreement.</text></section></legis-body></bill>
