RES. 799</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20211117">November 17, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="G000579">Mr. Gallagher</sponsor> submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HRU00">Committee on Rules</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Amending the Rules of the House of Representatives to prohibit the consideration of a bill or joint resolution, or any amendment thereto or conference report thereon, that includes reconciliation legislation prior to the receipt by the committee of jurisdiction of the cost analysis for such legislation from the Congressional Budget Office.</official-title></form><resolution-body style="OLC" id="H4B47F7D1A3C34E40A5FBC97CF8290D12"><section id="HEEEDF34C02FD4B8FA18239AF6A7EFAC0" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Requirement for reconciliation legislation in House of Representatives</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Clause 10 of rule XVIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="H6DC20C17BB3A406E9FEA462315A46522" display-inline="no-display-inline"><rules-paragraph id="HD39EC22EDDC54FD59539AE89C664622E" indent="up1"><enum>(d)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">It shall not be in order in the House or in the Committee of the Whole House on the state of the Union to consider any reconciliation bill or reconciliation joint resolution, or any amendment thereto or conference report thereon, that carries out reconciliation directives included in a concurrent resolution on the budget adopted under section 301 or section 304 of the Congressional Budget Act of 1974 prior to the receipt by the committee of jurisdiction with respect to the reconciliation legislation of the estimate and comparison of costs prepared by the Director of the Congressional Budget Office under section 402 of such Act for such reconciliation legislation.</text></rules-paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></resolution-body></resolution>
