RES. 636</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210914">September 14, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="G000565">Mr. Gosar</sponsor> submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HHA00">Committee on House Administration</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Directing the Committee on Ethics of the House of Representatives to carry out a pilot program under which the leadership of the House shall utilize body-worn cameras and ensure that the cameras are activated while carrying out official leadership business.</official-title></form><resolution-body style="OLC" id="HE91C1E16DE84405E8A3F570CD5CAA9CF"><section display-inline="no-display-inline" section-type="section-one" id="H8ED460DF9BAF43CD837E99784D283B48"><enum>1.</enum><header>Utilization of body-worn cameras by House leadership</header><subsection id="HEFB2E75FF9364C1F854D60B1E0E3D501"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Pilot program</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Committee on Ethics of the House of Representatives shall carry out a pilot program under which—</text><paragraph id="H83ED1AE83ED54B9597DB382C7EDE1DE2"><enum>(1)</enum><text>each Member who is the head of a House leadership office shall utilize a body-worn camera and ensure that the camera is activated while the Member is carrying out the official business of such office; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HABF756F7F00A413B9B98FB9864AF5D78"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the footage recorded by the camera is made available online to the public.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H8D2EBAD083F849A2ACE89032BD69C652"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Regulations</header><text>The Committee on Ethics of the House of Representatives shall promulgate such regulations as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the pilot program under this section.</text></subsection><subsection id="H49B19F01EB984E6BA65CEACB289DED64"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Period of program</header><text>The pilot program under this section shall be in effect during the One Hundred Eighteenth Congress.</text></subsection><subsection id="H20538FD3E7454664894E6513CE576398"><enum>(d)</enum><header>House leadership office defined</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this resolution, the term <term>House leadership office</term> means, with respect to a session of Congress, any office for which the appropriation for salaries and expenses of the office for the fiscal year during which any portion of the session occurs is provided under the heading <quote>House Leadership Offices</quote> in the Act making appropriations for the Legislative Branch for the fiscal year.</text></subsection></section></resolution-body></resolution>
