<whereas><text>Whereas police officers protect and serve our Nation’s communities; </text></whereas> <whereas><text>Whereas many brave men and women, deserving of honor, and with the last full measure of devotion, gave their lives in service of the Thin Blue Line;</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas these fallen heroes deserve the highest respect;</text></whereas> <whereas><text>Whereas, in 2021, 73 police officers were killed in the line of duty protecting their respective communities, including 5 police officers from the State of Louisiana;</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas National Police Week is from May 11 until May 17 for 2022; and</text></whereas> <whereas><text>Whereas National Peace Officers Memorial Day is May 15: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble><resolution-body style="OLC" id="HE48C61C3639340E0850521A044CF166C">
