Short title

This Act may be cited as the Reducing Plastics in Wastewater Act.

Removal of plastic waste and post-consumer materials

(a)

Projects and activities eligible for assistance

Section 603(c) of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act (33 U.S.C. 1383(c)) is amended— (1)in paragraph (11)(B), by striking ; and and inserting a semicolon; (2)in paragraph (12)(B), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and; and (3)by adding at the end the following: (13)for the construction of improvements to treatment works owned and operated by a municipality to reduce and remove plastic waste and post-consumer materials, including microplastics and microfibers, from wastewater.. (b)

Additional subsidization

Section 603(i)(1) of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act (33 U.S.C. 1383(i)(1)) is amended— (1)in subparagraph (A)(ii)(III), by striking ; or and inserting a semicolon; (2)in subparagraph (B)(iv), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; or; and (3)by adding at the end the following: (C)for an activity described in subsection (c)(13)..
