R. 9291</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20221114">November 14, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="C001072">Mr. Carson</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="B001292">Mr. Beyer</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001224">Ms. Bush</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="D000623">Mr. DeSaulnier</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="D000624">Mrs. Dingell</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000551">Mr. Grijalva</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000586">Mr. García of Illinois</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="J000305">Ms. Jacobs of California</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="J000298">Ms. Jayapal</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="J000288">Mr. Johnson of Georgia</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001143">Ms. McCollum</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M000312">Mr. McGovern</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="N000192">Ms. Newman</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="N000147">Ms. Norton</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="P000607">Mr. Pocan</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="O000172">Ms. Ocasio-Cortez</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="O000173">Ms. Omar</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="T000481">Ms. Tlaib</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="W000800">Mr. Welch</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HFA00">Committee on Foreign Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To require a report on the death of Shireen Abu Akleh.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H8CE475C4DC0A4116A3FC08D81295CA42" style="OLC"><section id="HFEC5834A8ED74A5BB29F1A36DC12C2A1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Report on death of Shireen Abu Akleh</header><subsection id="H23930CBC1B8149D1AB2FF3EDF9272618"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Secretary of State, in consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Secretary of Defense, shall submit to Congress a report on the death of Shireen Abu Akleh.</text></subsection><subsection id="H0CA189ED37434908B48F6F5BBDD397F5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Matters To be included</header><text>The report required by subsection (a) shall include—</text><paragraph id="HD9A08F3635F94B8C9B2A11AD7D5658F0"><enum>(1)</enum><text>an identification of those individuals or entities that carried out, participated in, or were otherwise complicit in, or responsible for the death of Shireen Abu Akleh; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HCE8D28CBEF564CF09657D59FF35280EB"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">an identification of any United States defense materials or services were implicated in the death of Shireen Abu Akleh.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HE8CAB5814BD94B6194F311B7D16840D8"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Form</header><text>The report required by subsection (a) shall be submitted in unclassified form and made available to the public at the same time on the website of the Department of State.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
