R. 9095</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220930">September 30, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="B000825">Mrs. Boebert</sponsor> (for herself, <cosponsor name-id="M001211">Mrs. Miller of Illinois</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="N000026">Mr. Nehls</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000552">Mr. Gohmert</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="H001071">Mr. Hice of Georgia</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001297">Mr. Buck</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="T000165">Mr. Tiffany</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="P000605">Mr. Perry</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HFA00">Committee on Foreign Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To direct the Secretary of State to designate Afghanistan as a state sponsor of terrorism.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HFB1EB9CF1D2946AAACBBDEBD2CC03EC6" style="OLC"><section id="H37F0860220EE4088AACCC254978CA96B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as <quote><short-title>The Taliban Sponsor Terrorism Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H27336C28F0E143F7B2A4CD0FBD20206B"><enum>2.</enum><header>Designation of Afghanistan as a state sponsor of terrorism</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Not later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of State shall designate Afghanistan as a country the government of which has repeatedly provided support for international terrorism pursuant to—</text><paragraph id="HF3476465211C461FACD09A47C97A208E"><enum>(1)</enum><text>section 1754(c)(1)(A) of the Export Control Reform Act of 2018 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/50/4318">50 U.S.C. 4318(c)(1)(A)</external-xref>);</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HDD7F62AFDD28455BBB26033D2500362E"><enum>(2)</enum><text>section 620A of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/2371">22 U.S.C. 2371</external-xref>);</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H4C517CC1730C45C3A9C872AE93FB9F3C"><enum>(3)</enum><text>section 40 of the Arms Export Control Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/2780">22 U.S.C. 2780</external-xref>); and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H4498FBBDE94B45EDACED5ED6C1031F15"><enum>(4)</enum><text>any other applicable provision of law.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
