<section id="H48FC24115EBD4CEABBC75AA2C69DCD21" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Determination of NEPA Adequacy Streamlining Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section> <section id="HA7E127D598274FA3BB6F953DAB00B131"><enum>2.</enum><header>Determination of National Environmental Policy Act adequacy</header> <subsection id="HDD7D69030EAF4E1D8DE3953C2027A699"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary concerned shall use previously completed environmental assessments and environmental impact statements to satisfy the requirements of section 102 of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/4332">42 U.S.C. 4332</external-xref>) with respect to any proposed transmission project, any proposed project to construct, connect, operate, or maintain a pipeline facility to transport an energy resource, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, or natural gas, or any proposed project to construct or maintain a renewable energy facility if such Secretary determines that—</text> 
<paragraph id="HF30C8F91F6C7498EBB6EC66FD17992DF"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the new proposed action is substantially the same as a previously analyzed proposed action or alternative analyzed in a previous environmental assessment or environmental impact statement; and </text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H176B375971094B94ADB4827106309EB3"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the effects of the proposed action are substantially the same as the effects analyzed in such existing environmental assessments or environmental impact statements. </text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H6D743242DB61481A99D0CE999EE3C4CB"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this section:</text> <paragraph id="HD6B0F6F0D9FD405D8547181271AAA011"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Renewable energy facility</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>renewable energy facility</term> means any equipment or facility that produces electricity from a renewable energy resource, including wind, solar, tidal, biomass, landfill gas, geothermal, methane, hydrogen, or water.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HBB3C5261C2684416BFA2FB2771FDBBEB"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Secretary concerned</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>Secretary concerned</term> means—</text> <subparagraph id="H69A66799A0FF470888CB57189662024D"><enum>(A)</enum><text>with respect to public lands, the Secretary of the Interior; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H6AA5E40D1DF3465FB44B8CFF9C36F030"><enum>(B)</enum><text>with respect to National Forest System Lands, the Secretary of Agriculture.</text> </subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
