R. 8832</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220915">September 15, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="L000593">Mr. Levin of California</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="F000466">Mr. Fitzpatrick</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HIF00">Committee on Energy and Commerce</committee-name>, and in addition to the Committee on <committee-name committee-id="HWM00">Ways and Means</committee-name>, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend title XI of the Social Security Act to ensure nursing facilities report information on medical directors of such facilities.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HB4F9C044F5B4472F9D0D681DC62DB2A3" style="OLC"><section id="H4FC151EF4CA049AE846B369ADC555290" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Ensuring nursing facilities report information on medical directors of such facilities</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1124(c) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1320a-3">42 U.S.C. 1320a–3(c)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="HB4F6D2ECCF0E467DA188817E12B88FA1"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (3), by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="H8BDACF0AF4C245B9992FD146462BDE86" display-inline="no-display-inline"><subparagraph id="HD40C1F45669244C9A89DB3C52469E43A"><enum>(C)</enum><header>Updated regulations</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 2 years after the date of the enactment of this subparagraph, the Secretary shall revise the regulations promulgated pursuant to subparagraph (A) to require, effective on the date that is 90 days after the date on which such revised regulations are published in the Federal Register, a facility to include in reports required under this section the information described in paragraph (2)(A)(ii)(II) with respect to managing employees who are medical directors of such facility. Beginning 6 months after such revised regulations are so published, the Secretary shall make such information so reported with respect to medical directors of a facility publicly available on the Nursing Home Compare website under section 1819(i) (or a successor website).</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph><paragraph id="H688EB2EF1EB047B9B46A54D5E9D06AA9"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (5)(C), by inserting <quote>and shall include a medical director of such facility</quote> before the period at the end.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
