R. 8768</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220902">September 2, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="N000190">Mr. Norman</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HAP00">Committee on Appropriations</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To rescind and transfer funds available for the Office of the Director of the National Institutes of Health to accounts for pediatric cancer research, awareness, and survivorship, to reduce the deficit, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H3C223EC36E674C3EBE279AF1B8AC2BF2" style="OLC"><section id="HC0BDC55810A842B7BE7BBA1B17CA5EAE" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Fighting Cancer in Children Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H121EDB16CC9A467B8AF3CECD8C9030CD"><enum>2.</enum><header>Transfer and rescission of amounts available for Office of the Director of NIH</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Of the unobligated amounts available for <quote>National Institutes of Health—Office of the Director</quote> in <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/117/103">Public Law 117–103</external-xref>—</text><paragraph id="H4D19944CD44C47148336C419F913C2E2"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">$30,000,000 is transferred to, and merged with, amounts available to carry out section 417E of the Public Health Service Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/285a-11">42 U.S.C. 285a–11</external-xref>; relating to pediatric cancer research, awareness, and survivorship); and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H070546A1C9C3437CA91447CD3AB458A9"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">$30,000,000 is hereby rescinded.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
