Short title

This Act may be cited as the Lowering Inflated Heating, Energy, and Air Conditioning Prices Act or the LIHEAP Act.

LIHEAP household income eligibility

(a)

In general

Notwithstanding section 2605(b)(2)(B)(ii) of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Act of 1981 (42 U.S.C. 8624(b)(2)(B)(ii)), for fiscal years 2023 and 2024 a State may use any grant made under section 2602 of such Act (42 U.S.C. 8621) to make payments under section 2605(b)(2) of such Act (42 U.S.C. 8624(b)(2)) to households with incomes which do not exceed 75 percent of the State median income. (b)

Definitions

In this section, the terms State, State median income, and household have the meanings given such terms in section 2603 of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Act of 1981 (42 U.S.C. 8622).
