<section id="HEDBB1A25EA364980B27066E96FBEBF40" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Lowering Inflated Heating, Energy, and Air Conditioning Prices Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>LIHEAP Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section> <section id="HCFD8A9198E654A82BA26605CA8F9371A"><enum>2.</enum><header>LIHEAP household income eligibility</header> <subsection id="HAA12BD3E1235459F9040168C5F34052B"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding section 2605(b)(2)(B)(ii) of the <short-title>Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Act of 1981</short-title> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/8624">42 U.S.C. 8624(b)(2)(B)(ii)</external-xref>), for fiscal years 2023 and 2024 a State may use any grant made under section 2602 of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/8621">42 U.S.C. 8621</external-xref>) to make payments under section 2605(b)(2) of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/8624">42 U.S.C. 8624(b)(2)</external-xref>) to households with incomes which do not exceed 75 percent of the State median income.</text> </subsection> 
<subsection id="HB364AFB806554421B325C4E74EAB4B89"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section, the terms <term>State</term>, <term>State median income</term>, and <term>household</term> have the meanings given such terms in section 2603 of the <short-title>Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Act of 1981</short-title> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/8622">42 U.S.C. 8622</external-xref>).</text></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
