<section id="HDECD917ECB5F4851B8C0F27FBBAC80C0" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Keep on Trucking Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H5EB997A164224727AE634B4FE35DF075" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Requirements for qualifications, hours of service, safety, and equipment standards</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 31502 of title 49, United States Code, is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H80827B13B85C4B2D85C55E2807FCE467"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (b)—</text> <subparagraph id="H05D86E10247B4FB699B53AE702AC5290"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>The Secretary of Transportation may prescribe requirements for—</quote> and inserting the following: </text> 
<quoted-block style="USC" id="H3D0AB9538F324CA98F7EF3C9FC0F29BA" display-inline="no-display-inline"> 
<paragraph id="H645BFF1B67074DB69CC0F3D2361AA20B"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of Transportation may prescribe requirements for—</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>;</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H7B5BD5CAC9CB451D94C50D8FE4020F05"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by redesignating paragraphs (1) and (2) as subparagraphs (A) and (B), respectively; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H51B5894895444B75AA733784038EE497"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block style="USC" id="HE71205391F044CB587D8083763C4ED0F" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <paragraph id="H308BFA69274643948FC8A444402FF7CB"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Exception</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary may not prescribe requirements for maximum hours of service of a driver operating a property-carrying commercial motor vehicle.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H6A6133A137B849F3AB34F44507E54EBA"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block style="USC" id="H3C1E81C2D4E34370BFE69B7AF2D0A573" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <subsection id="HCA8281DAA88947B5B25F6EBE12BCDC58"><enum>(g)</enum><header>Hours of service requirement</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any driver operating a property-carrying commercial motor vehicle on behalf of a motor carrier or a motor private carrier shall be permitted at least 10 consecutive hours in a 24-hour period off duty when such driver informs the motor carrier or motor private carrier that such driver needs immediate rest.</text> </subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section>
