R. 827</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210204">February 4, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="N000188">Mr. Norcross</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HGO00">Committee on Oversight and Reform</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To direct the Postmaster General to modify any hard copy change of address form used by the United States Postal Service to include a reminder to update voter registration, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HB5D21885510F4ED5BB5FBE908A2D2C66" style="OLC"><section id="H68D4B17579124F4E9A664FD1392DE85A" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Voter Registration Promotion Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H4386612ACC924835962F4B4CEDDA36CA" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>2.</enum><header>Use of Postal Service hard copy change of address form to remind individuals to update voter registration</header><subsection id="H92ACED4ADCB44158BE3CBED1F71E6B5C"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Postmaster General shall modify any hard copy change of address form used by the United States Postal Service so that such form contains a reminder that any individual using such form should update the individual’s voter registration as a result of any change in address.</text></subsection><subsection id="HD7088FE1DFE5400A8EA3FBEF2C41B54D"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Application</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The requirement in subsection (a) shall not apply to any electronic version of a change of address form used by the United States Postal Service.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
