                                 A BILL


 
  To amend title 49, United States Code, to prohibit the Secretary of 
Transportation from making certain grants to zero-emission or electric 
                    ferries, and for other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``No Electric Ferries Act''.

SEC. 2. PASSENGER FERRY GRANTS.

    Section 5307(h) of title 49, United States Code, is amended by 
adding at the end the following:
            ``(4) Prohibition.--The Secretary may not make a grant 
        under this section to a recipient for a zero-emission or 
        electric ferry.''.
