Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act to authorize the President to provide hazard mitigation assistance for mitigating and preventing post-wildfire flooding and debris flow, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H6FAE9FA4ABC444F2B31CD62083CD8D85" style="OLC"> 
<section id="H9AA87555573F480D8134272F4E2E9AF9" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Post-Fire Flooding and Debris Flow Act of 2022</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H421E5D0190B348C49470F7026278D985"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendments to improve hazard mitigation assistance</header> <subsection id="H569D29E5907E4D9897B154EF317DD9E7"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 404 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief And Emergency Assistance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5170c">42 U.S.C. 5170c</external-xref>) is amended— </text>
<paragraph id="H59F62C33CE754FD7A6B5BE641F4B1DE5"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a), by striking <quote>The President may contribute up to 75 percent of the cost</quote> and inserting <quote>The Federal share of assistance under this section shall be not less than 75 percent of the cost</quote>; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H8EC655E064764FB2A88C045C1626006B"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (f)—</text>
<subparagraph id="H8127F9E494274A1B9BA464D7341124F6"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in paragraph (13), by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H4DF9EBD1CD4843E59B89EDF22DB02BCB"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in paragraph (14), by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>; and</quote>; and</text></subparagraph>
<subparagraph id="H693EB41045C54C40AE46C688CB43222E"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HF48EA1FAEEF24318956CB0E387C506C1"> <paragraph id="H53EB1E901AD14FB98E7609A1588FD319"><enum>(15)</enum><text>with respect to any area affected by a wildfire, mitigating and preventing post-wildfire flooding and debris flow.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="HC0209BF494AA400D8E4EF0DBA2EF4FB4"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Application</header><text>The amendments made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to assistance provided under section 404 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5170c">42 U.S.C. 5170c</external-xref>) on or after the date of enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
