R. 790</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210204">February 4, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="B001282">Mr. Barr</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="W000816">Mr. Williams of Texas</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="W000812">Mrs. Wagner</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="T000480">Mr. Timmons</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="D000626">Mr. Davidson</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="T000479">Mr. Taylor</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000583">Mr. Loudermilk</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000579">Mr. Gallagher</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000588">Mr. Gonzalez of Ohio</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="Z000017">Mr. Zeldin</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001305">Mr. Budd</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000589">Mr. Gooden of Texas</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="H001071">Mr. Hice of Georgia</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="K000392">Mr. Kustoff</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000578">Mr. LaMalfa</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S001213">Mr. Steil</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001195">Mr. Mooney</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="R000612">Mr. Rose</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000569">Mr. Luetkemeyer</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="E000294">Mr. Emmer</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="H001072">Mr. Hill</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="L000491">Mr. Lucas</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HBA00">Committee on Financial Services</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010 to bring the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection into the regular appropriations process, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HDE270D845C1F4C4DB0A0BFC866F65EDF" style="OLC"><section id="H9EDF966265264DB5BE63F94107287CBC" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Taking Account of Bureaucrats’ Spending Act of 2021</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>TABS Act of 2021</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H9FB562AE50CF41F0BCE0BB8C479A5DDB"><enum>2.</enum><header>Bringing the Bureau into the regular appropriations process</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1017 of the Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/12/5497">12 U.S.C. 5497</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="HCF48614A4E934370A94D2934DF40A8EF"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a)—</text><subparagraph id="H808B3FB02EC34F0BA4ACC9A17C94D1B0"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by amending the heading of such subsection to read as follows: <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Budget, financial management, and audit.—</header-in-text></quote>;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H30C342F9BC7E4BF6B46ACAD6F585F43E"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking paragraphs (1), (2), and (3);</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H5A04D86C4CE547AAB6090B180F7113A4"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by redesignating paragraphs (4) and (5) as paragraphs (1) and (2), respectively; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H78CBE86A34AC4851A648D755230C70E2"><enum>(D)</enum><text>by striking subparagraphs (E) and (F) of paragraph (1), as so redesignated;</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H354F7B26FF9D4187AFFDE75CF3A18D71"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking subsections (b) and (c);</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HDD08D7E4FA684CE8B6924197528FE0A2"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by redesignating subsections (d) and (e) as subsections (b) and (c), respectively; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H51310BDCCFE94A0EAA17D986B9CDE21C"><enum>(4)</enum><text>in subsection (c), as so redesignated—</text><subparagraph id="HD5732D7C9EDD43D3B2789EA202F01970"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking paragraphs (1), (2), and (3) and inserting the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H7BF15D79D00745CD8C232B16EFD67D00" style="OLC"><paragraph id="HA092F5CD8BF64C5D8A33B23E65F47270"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Authorization of appropriations</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">There are authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out this title for each of fiscal years 2021 and 2022.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H2F9ED78D814947CDA65947B70B378C76"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by redesignating paragraph (4) as paragraph (2).</text></subparagraph></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
