<section id="HBA96470CBE1F454D9CB23C8D7EECCAB1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Trigger Leads Abatement Act of 2022</short-title></quote>. </text></section> <section id="H9ECD9E3E3029497AB2D3D332BEF2E590"><enum>2.</enum><header>Trigger lead prohibition</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 604(c) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/1681b">15 U.S.C. 1681b(c)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<paragraph id="H501CF8F640604E4E86574B0B680B10BA"><enum>(4)</enum><header>Prohibition on trigger leads for residential mortgage loans</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding paragraph (1), no consumer reporting agency may furnish a consumer report in connection with a credit transaction that is not initiated by a consumer, if the report is being procured based in whole or in part on the presence of an inquiry made in connection with a residential mortgage loan (as defined under section 103 of the Truth in Lending Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/1602">15 U.S.C. 1602</external-xref>)).</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section> </legis-body></bill>
