R. 7622</legis-num><associated-doc role="report" display="yes">[Report No. 117–329]</associated-doc><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220428">April 28, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="C001121">Mr. Crow</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="F000471">Mr. Fitzgerald</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="H001085">Ms. Houlahan</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="G000597">Mr. Garbarino</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HSM00">Committee on Small Business</committee-name></action-desc></action><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220517">May 17, 2022</action-date><action-desc>Reported from the <committee-name committee-id="HSM00">Committee on Small Business</committee-name>; committed to the Committee of the Whole House on the State of the Union and ordered to be printed</action-desc></action><action><action-desc><pagebreak></pagebreak></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Small Business Act to include requirements relating to apprenticeship program assistance for small business development centers, and for other purposes.<pagebreak></pagebreak></official-title></form><legis-body id="H2914CAB5EB56449CBB1A2B3EFB21DD82" style="OLC"><section id="HB0FD6E966A7946958DF29D2DFF7924F5" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Small Business Workforce Pipeline Act of 2022</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HCF5A44A0E91C47C8B545F09B09B6895A"><enum>2.</enum><header>Small business development center apprenticeship program assistance</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 21(c)(3) of the Small Business Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/648">15 U.S.C. 648(c)(1)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H03FFEFB39A604C71822EE9CC9AF0F069"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (T), by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H26BFA3C3CA0F4260A7B53A0DC13929BE"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in clause (v) of the first subparagraph (U) (relating to succession planning), by striking the period at the end and inserting a semicolon;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HDD86007FC0D644DD8AE495599DB6EFEC"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in second subparagraph (U) (relating to training on domestic and international intellectual property protections)—</text><subparagraph id="H756215C6DCF145FB94838325CA01D93F"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in clause (ii)(II), by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>; and</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HBC35EAF8C37E4DF986116E09FC83C719"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by redesignating such subparagraph as subparagraph (V); and</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HA5C7A31AB6C74E7AB4DEFEE9AE013AB4"><enum>(4)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:</text><quoted-block id="HF4B3A5C989AE44AEA52520163D8A9996" style="OLC"><subparagraph id="HCFC20454417545C68E0AA956610871A6"><enum>(W)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">providing information and assistance to small business concerns, including by disseminating relevant information from the Department of Labor and other Federal agencies, on how to establish and improve—</text><clause id="HC3981F2342FC4A9495D67FA4B9D6359A"><enum>(i)</enum><text>work-based learning opportunities (as defined in section 3 of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/2302">20 U.S.C. 2302</external-xref>));</text></clause><clause id="HEC53354E8ABF44DEAB10BA6CE0DE4289"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>apprenticeship programs registered under the Act of August 16, 1937 (50 Stat. 664, chapter 663; commonly known as the <quote>National Apprenticeship Act</quote>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/50">29 U.S.C. 50 et seq.</external-xref>);</text></clause><clause id="H694CD8FB96864C4FB8AB9CFA77D4C5E2"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>pre-apprenticeship programs; and</text></clause><clause id="H48374539C951439383BD4ABDBBCF6DD7"><enum>(iv)</enum><text>job training programs.</text></clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section></legis-body><endorsement><action-date date="20220517">May 17, 2022</action-date><action-desc> Committed to the Committee of the Whole House on the State of the Union and ordered to be printed</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
