R. 7528</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220414">April 14, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="W000814">Mr. Weber of Texas</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="M000317">Ms. Malliotakis</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001299">Mr. Banks</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="V000133">Mr. Van Drew</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000578">Mr. Gaetz</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001211">Mrs. Miller of Illinois</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B000740">Mrs. Bice of Oklahoma</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="N000026">Mr. Nehls</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000552">Mr. Gohmert</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="C001104">Mr. Cawthorn</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HFA00">Committee on Foreign Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To prohibit United States assistance to El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HE1722CCD5BEF46BBB491CAFA6544EF70" style="OLC"><section id="HE325385694AD41E99C3FE1E3C4AD72FC" section-type="section-one" commented="no"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>No Aid for Abetting Illegal Immigration Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HF13F283A94074D67926ACE1365CBC06C"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on United States assistance to El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua</header><subsection id="HBDDF49D487934529990E85D6074591E0"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The President may not provide assistance under the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/2151">22 U.S.C. 2151 et seq.</external-xref>) or any other Act and allocated for a covered country for a fiscal year unless the President determines and certifies to Congress that the country has developed and implemented laws and policies that would cease the flow of migrants through the country to the United States.</text></subsection><subsection id="HCFAF854A3E1C466593D53B929C783BAA"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Covered country defined</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section, the term <quote>covered country</quote> means El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, or Nicaragua.</text></subsection><subsection id="HC0755FB6724C4616A7DEF93DED715C16"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">This Act takes effect on the date of the enactment of this Act and applies with respect to amounts made available under the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 or any other Act for fiscal year 2023 and each subsequent fiscal year.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
