Short title

This Act may be cited as the Retain COPS Act of 2022.

Additional authorized use of COPS grant funds

Section 1701(b) of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (34 U.S.C. 10381(b)) is amended—(1)in paragraph (23), by redesignating such paragraph as paragraph (24); (2)in paragraph (22)—(A)by redesignating such paragraph as paragraph (23); and(B)by striking (1) through (21); and and inserting (1) through (22); and; and(3)by inserting after paragraph (21) the following: (22)to retain law enforcement officers by providing salary increases;.
