<section id="H4F0A29DF563842E49BA58325E3321167" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as <quote><short-title>Volunteer Fighters Exemption Act of 2022</short-title></quote>. </text></section> <section id="HF0990F916FEF4BA7BA21C0BA38D78ED0"><enum>2.</enum><header>Exemption for participating as a combatant in the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine on behalf of Ukraine</header> <subsection id="HC94F6FAC01624043ADA49D5ACB3D3ED5"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any violation of a covered provision committed by a person that involves participating as a combatant in the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine on behalf of Ukraine during the period beginning February 24, 2022, and ending on the date that is 10 years after the date of enactment of this Act, is deemed not to be such a violation.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H9818FD45C7014F71AEE63D3617D5C259"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Covered provision defined</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this Act, the term <term>covered provision</term> means section 958, 959, or 960 of title 18, United States Code. </text></subsection></section> </legis-body> </bill>
